UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor will open its 2017 Mid-States Football Association Mideast League schedule on Saturday, when it welcomes Siena Heights into Turner Stadium for a 1:00 pm tilt. The game will highlight TU's Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities.

SCOUTING TAYLOR: The Trojans have rotated wins and losses through their first four games, winning both outings on the home turf. In those two contests, TU has averaged 30.5 points and allowed 20.0 points per game. Grant Hohlbein has sparked the offense, ranking No. 9 in the NAIA with 7.0 catches per game.

SCOUTING SIENA HEIGHTS: The Saints have scored at least 30 points in three-straight games, posting wins in each of those contests. The SHU defense has been the story however, leading the MSFA Mideast in passing defense. Nick Stalworth leads that unit and the MSFA Mideast with 9.6 hits per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Taylor is 3-2 all-time against Siena Heights, having won three of the last four and each of the past two meetings. TU is 2-0 all-time against the Saints in Upland.

LAST MEETING: Taylor scored 21-unanswered points over the second and third quarters to take a 21-14 Homecoming win against Siena Heights one year ago. The Trojans rushed for 234 yards on the ground and held a nine-minute edge in time of possession. Ben Rupert and Stanley Gilbert anchored the Taylor defense with nine stops each.

TU'S LAST TIME OUT: Saint Xavier scored the game's first 10 points and held off TU in a 24-20 contest last Saturday. The Taylor offense struggled throughout with just 228 total yards of offense and three miscues, while averaging only 3.2 yards per snap.

KORFMACHER NEARING MILESTONE WIN: Taylor head coach, Ron Korfmacher, enters Saturday's game just one victory shy of matching TU Hall of Famer, Bob Davenport, for the most head coaching victories in program history. Davenport piled up 48 wins from 1957 through 1968 with the Trojans.

TU INDUCTS THREE INTO HALL OF FAME: Saturday will be a busy day around campus, with multiple events planned for the 2017 Homecoming and Family Weekend schedule. As part of the festivities, Taylor will induct Felipe Bedon (Men's Tennis), Michael Kraynak (Baseball) and Kelsey (Pritchard) Bawell (Volleyball) into its TU Athletics Hall of Fame.

CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF TAYLOR FOOTBALL: Taylor University will celebrate 70 years of TU Football during its regular season finale against Missouri Baptist on November 11 at 1:00 pm. Stay tuned to for more information coming soon.
