FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Freshman Elaina Mellott carded a 95 and Meagan Devries added a 102 for the Taylor women’s golf team on day two of the Saint Francis Invitational as the Trojans finished in 9th place.

In cold and windy conditions Devries and senior Hope Knowling managed to card the same scores as day one while freshman Erin Erickson trimmed three shots off her day one total of 116 to card a career-low 113 for TU. Jenna Fahlen added a 113 after firing a 100 yesterday.

“I like how competitive these ladies are,” Taylor coach Julie Flores said. “Jenna (Fahlen) had some struggles today and she is frustrated and I know some of the other ladies know they can play better and I think they’ll use that frustration to fuel a deeper focus and commitment to getting better in practice this week.”

Taylor returns to action on Friday when the Trojans travel to Bethel for the Battle at Blackthorn.

Elaina Mellott 90-95
Jenna Fahlen 100-113
Meagan Devries 102-102
Hope Knowling 105-105
Erin Erickson 116-113
