MARION, Ind. - Taylor freshman Brittany Pfaff fired a score of 95 to lead the Trojans on the first day of the Indiana Wesleyan University Fall Invitational at Arbor Trace Golf Club.
Pfaff was the only Trojan to break to century mark on day one as sophomore Elaina Mellott fired a 101, junior Erin Erickson added a 102, and junior Marisa Williamson added a 113 as the Trojans notched a first round score of 411. Freshman Alexa Gum was the fifth score for Taylor with a 119.
Taylor sits in eighth in the 9-team field, 24 shots ahead of Crossroads League member Mount Vernon Nazarene. Olivet Nazarene leads after the first round with a team score of 317 while the Tigers' Bridget Wolff leads all players after around of 3-over par 75 in the first round.
The final round begins tomorrow with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
