FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Taylor women's golf team posted a team score of 379 on the first day of the University of Saint Francis Invitational at Brookwood Golf Course in Fort Wayne.

Sophomore Elaina Mellott led Taylor with a 90 while freshman Brittany Pfaff bounced back from a difficult front nine to post a 2-over par score of 38 on the back nine en route to a 91. Junior Marisa Williamson fired a career-low score of 94 and sophomore Erin Erickson added a 102 to round out the four scoring players for Taylor. Freshman Alexa Gum added a 107 in the fifth spot for TU.

Taylor sits in eighth place in the 8-team field but the Trojans are just five shots behind Mount Vernon Nazarene and 13 shots behind Spring Arbor.

Taylor will look to move up the leaderboard in tomorrow's final round which is scheduled to begin with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
