UPLAND, Ind. - The junior combo of Ethan Evans and Scott King will represent Taylor University by heading to Lawrence, Kansas to compete as individuals at the 2013 NAIA Nationals on Saturday, November 23.

"It is very exciting to see Ethan and Scott compete at NAIA Nationals for the first time," said head coach Lance Vanderberg. "They have both worked hard this season and will represent Taylor University with focus and intensity."

Evans and King were each honored as All-Crossroads League performers, after finishing fifth and eighth at the 2013 Crossroads League Championships on November 13. The duo paced the Trojans to a second-place finish as a team for the highest finish since 2009 and played a key role all season in Taylor posting a win-loss margin of 89-23 over six events.

Vanderberg views the trip to Nationals for Evans and King as both an exciting opportunity and yet another major step to Taylor's goal of competing as a team at the event in 2014.

"Competing on Saturday will give both runners familiarity with the course for next season, when we hope to be competing at Nationals as a full team."

Evans and King will race in the 58th-Annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships, beginning at 10:30 am (CST) at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas.
