LONDON, Ky. - The Taylor women's golf team showed marked improvement on day two of the Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate Invitational in London, Ky.
All three Trojans improved on their scores from Monday's first round with freshman Brittany Pfaff leading the way for Taylor with a score of 97. Pfaff recorded her first par of the day on the par 3 sixth hole and played the next 11 holes in just eight strokes over par en route to the Trojans' best score of the tournament and a nine shot improvement over yesterday's score.
Sophomore Elaina Mellott followed up yesterday's 103 with a 101 today. Mellott carded two pars and eight bogies in round two but suffered two quadruple bogies that soured an otherwise strong round. Junior Marissa Williamson showed the most improvement for Taylor, shaving 21 shots off her round one score to card a 121.
The tournament marked the kickoff of the spring season for the Trojans who will return to action next Monday at the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational in Athens, Tenn.
