ATHENS, Tenn. - Freshman Brittany Pfaff paced the Trojans on the first day of the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational with a career-low round of 86.
Pfaff shot followed up a front nine 42 with a 44 on the closing nine en route to the lowest score of her young collegiate career while fellow freshman Libby Hansen shot a 97 her first career round as a Trojan. Hansen carded a 45 on the front nine but fell off the pace slightly after the turn with a 52 on the back nine.
Sophomore Elaina Mellott shot 46 on the opening half but added a 53 on the homeward holes to card a 99 while junior Marisa Williamson rounded out the Taylor team score with a 133.
The Trojans carded a team score of 415 and sit in eighth place in the eight team field with round two at Springbrook Country Club slated for tomorrow morning.
