SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Freshman Libby Hansen helped the Taylor women's golf team to a team score of 372 on the first round of the Pilot Invitational hosted by Bethel at Blackthorn Golf Club.
Hansen's 90 was good enough for 21st place in the 38-player field and helped Taylor finish day one in sixth place out of eight teams in the event. Fellow freshman Brittany Pfaff carded pars on her last three holes to finish with a 94 while sophomore Elaina Mellott added a 95 and junior Marisa Williamson rounded out the TU scoring with a 103.
Taylor is in sixth place in the 8-team field, leading Saint Xavier (398) and Concordia (Wisc.) (405) and trailing fourth place Holy Cross by 12 shots.
The final round of the Pilot Invitational begins on Saturday with a 10:00 am shotgun start.
