MARION, Ind. - The Taylor women's golf team wrapped up the regular season with some solid play on the final day of the Taylor Spring Invitational at Meshingomesia Country Club on Saturday.
Brittany Pfaff continued her strong freshman campaign with a final round score of 93 to lead the Trojans. Pfaff's two-day total of 183 was good enough for a tie for eighth place in the 29-player field that marked her second top ten finish of the spring.
Fellow freshman Libby Hansen finished 13th with a two-day total of 189 after a second round score of 94 while sophomore Elaina Mellott rounded out the TU scoring with a 95, shaving five strokes off her first round score en route to a 15th place finish.
The Trojans did not post a team score after the Trojans' fourth player, Marisa Williamson, was forced to withdraw from the event due to illness.
Bethel, led by seniors Geandra Almeida and Erin Devries, claimed the team title with a two-day total of 676. Almeida was the individual medalist for the tournament with a total of 160 (77-83) while Devries finished second at 165 (80-85). Indiana Wesleyan finished in second place at 738, Holy Cross (765) was third, and Spring Arbor (803) finished fourth.
The Trojans will now turn their attention to the Crossroads League Championship scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Rock Hollow Golf Course in Peru, Ind. The 54-hole tournament will feature 27 holes on each day starting at 8:30 am.
