PERU, Ind. - The Taylor women's golf team fired a team score of 393 in the opening round of the Crossroads League Championship at Rock Hollow Golf Club on Friday.
The Trojans were led by freshmen Brittany Pfaff and Libby Hansen as Pfaff carded a 91 and Hansen added a 92 in their first Crossroads League Championship action. Pfaff is tied for tenth in the 33-player field while Hansen is 12th.
Sophomore Elaina Mellott added a 94 and is 15th place while junior Marisa Williamson carded a 116 to round out the scoring for the Trojans in round one.
Taylor is in fifth place after the opening round. Marian leads the championship after a score of 338 while Bethel (344), Indiana Wesleyan (376), and Saint Francis (377) round out the top four. The Trojans lead Spring Arbor (419) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (458).
The teams continued with the first nine holes of the second round in the afternoon on Friday but those results will not be official until the completion of the second nine tomorrow morning. The teams will wrap up the championship with 27 holes tomorrow with the first group teeing off at 8:30 am.
