PERU, Ind. - The Taylor women's golf team finished fifth in the Crossroads League Championship at Rock Hollow Golf Club on Saturday.
Freshman Brittany Pfaff fired a final round 87 to card a three-round total of 268 and earn a tie for 11th place, one spot shy of All Crossroads League honors. Fellow freshman Libby Hansen added a final round 92 for a total of 275 as Taylor carded its best team score of the tournament in the final round with a 383.
Sophomore Elaina Mellott bounced back from a tough second round to post a 91 in the final round and earn a three-round total of 283 while junior Marisa Williamson added a 113 to fire her best round in her final tour of the course and finish at 346.
The Trojans' final round score of 383 was ten shots better than TU's opening round and a 13 shot improvement from the second round to finish with a three-round total of 1,172 to finish in fifth place.
Marian claimed the Crossroads League championship with a three-round total of 985. Bethel finished second at 996 and Indiana Wesleyan held off Saint Francis for third place at 1,095. TU finished ahead of Spring Arbor (1,229) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (1,286).
