Grand Rapids, Mich. – A strong Davenport team defeated Taylor women's tennis 8-1 Friday, as the Panthers were able to sweep singles play.

Katherine Marquez played an extremely competitive first set at the No. 1 singles flight, eventually succumbing in a tiebreak to Alyssa Fuentes before falling in the second set 6-2.

Freshman Annika Zeilstra, who has played at No. 3 doubles throughout the season, played in her first singles match of the year at the No. 6 position but was downed 6-3, 6-2 by Marcie Kooyers.
