LONDON, Ky. – The Taylor University women's golf team opening the spring portion of its season on Monday at the SEKI Women's Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Course in London, Kentucky.
The Trojans were a little rusty in their first action after the long winter break but managed a team score of 375 in the opening round. Sophomore Libby Hansen paced the Trojans with a round of 18-over par 91 on the 5,874-yard, par 73 layout. Fellow sophomore Brittany Pfaff and freshman Grace Elenbaas added a pair of 92's for the Trojans while freshman Courtney Feagans finished with a score of 100 as the final counting score for TU. Senior Lauren Anderson carded a 106 as TU's drop score in the opening round.
The Trojans are in eighth place in the 8-team field that features six teams ranked in the NAIA Golfstat top 50. NCAA Division II squad Lincoln Memorial leads the tournament after Monday's action with a score of 322. The Trojans trail 7th-place Union (Ky.) by 11 shots heading into Tuesday's final round.
