LOUDON, Tenn. – The Taylor men's golf team carded a round of 327 on the first day of the Tennessee River Rumble at Tennessee National Golf Club.

 

Freshman Trey Turner carded a round of 79 (+7) to lead the Trojans on the 7,163-yard, Greg Norman design. Fellow freshmen Mitch Lamping (81) and Nick Waskom (83) were next for the Trojans while sophomore Jordan Hall rounded out the counting scores for Taylor with an 84.

 

Senior Nate Scheibe added an 80 playing as an individual while sophomore Seth Neal was the TU drop score with a 92.

 

The field features nearly all NCAA Division II teams along with the NAIA's 10th-ranked team, Dalton State. Lincoln Memorial, the host school, leads the 12-team field with a score of 304. The Trojans are in tenth place, two strokes behind Walters Community College and five strokes behind Tusculum.

 

Tuesday's final round is slated for a 9:00 am shotgun start with the Trojans starting on holes 10-13.
