WOOSTER, Ohio – Taylor women's tennis was in action on Saturday afternoon on the road against the College of Wooster, and the host Fighting Scots came away with a 7-2 win over the Trojans.


College of Wooster, a Division III program in the midst of its primary spring season, was able to claim five of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles contests over the Trojans.


Taylor's Katherine Marquez earned a win at the top singles flight as opponent Catherine Christian was forced to retire late in the opening set with Marquez leading 5-4. Rachel Kammer and Betsy Jones accounted for Taylor's other point from the No. 2 doubles position, earning an 8-4 result over Wooster's Catherine Boyles and Morgan Wagers.


The match was extremely competitive and could have gone either way, as Wooster prevailed in three singles matches that came down to the third and final set.


Full scores from Saturday's play can be found below. Taylor (8-9) is scheduled to play at home on Monday, April 13 against Indiana Tech. That match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm.
