UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's track and field team wrapped up its final opportunities to compete before postseason play at the Taylor Invitational at the George Glass Track and Field Complex.


TU's women's distance coach Quinn White, who is celebrating a milestone of his own this week with his 50th birthday, was pleased as the Trojans took three of the top four spots in the 1500-meter run. Jane Hawks claimed the win with a time of 4:44.74 while Shelby Wilson and Elaine Schmeltz finished third and fourth, respectively.


Taylor's distance crew also ran well in the 800-mter run as freshman Alex Berends finished second followed closely by teammate Sarina Oleson.


Junior Haley White claimed another victory in the javelin with a toss of 36.10 meters.


Alyssa Hatteberg ran the ninth fasted steeplechase in TU history en route to a fourth place finish with a time of 12:17.49 while Michaela Pfeifer finished one spot behind with a time of 12:57.33.


Kayla Liefeld and Princess Sakeuh registered seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively, in the 100-meter dash.


Taylor will now turn its attention to the Crossroads League Championships scheduled for next Friday and Saturday in Goshen, Ind.
