INDIANAPOLIS – The Taylor women's golf team got off to a solid start on the first day of the Crossroads League Tournament on Monday as the Trojans fired a team score of 357 to move into fourth place after the opening round.
Sophomores Libby Hansen and Brittany Pfaff paced TU during the opening round of the 54-hole tournament with Hansen carded a score of 87 and Pfaff added an 88 to finish the opening round just outside the top ten. Taylor also counted a 90 from freshman Courtney Feagans and a 92 from freshman Grace Elenbaas while senior Lauren Anderson's first round 102 was TU's drop score.
The Trojans finished round one three shots clear of Indiana Wesleyan and just seven shots behind Saint Francis for third place. Marian fired a 336 to take the lead after the first round with Bethel closely behind at 338.
All teams played the first nine holes of the second round as well on Monday but those scores will not be officially posted until after the conclusion of round two on Tuesday morning. Play for the final 27 holes will begin Tuesday at 9:00 am.
