MARION, Ind. – The Taylor women's golf followed up yesterday's record-breaking performance with an even better day during the final round of the Indiana Wesleyan Fall Invitational, firing a new school record score of 337.
Freshman Elizabeth Jackson carded the low round of the day for the Trojans with a 9-over par 82 followed by an 83 from junior Brittany Pfaff and an 84 from freshman Raquel Helton. Junior Libby Hansen rounded out the top four for TU with an 88 while sophomore Courtney Feagans was Taylor's drop score with a 90.
The Trojans carded a two-day total of 676 (339-337) to finish in a tie four 4th place with the hosts from Indiana Wesleyan. Olivet Nazarene claimed the tournament title with a blistering second round of 305 to finish with a two-day total of 631.
Pfaff was the low finisher for Taylor with a two-round total of 163 (80-83) and a tie for 13th place. Helton finished in a tie for 21st place with Jackson (T-23), and Hansen (T25) not far behind in the 70-player field. Feagans finished in a tie for 30th while freshman Hana Padget finished in a tie for 61st (102-105) while competing as an individual.
Taylor is back in action next weekend when the Trojans travel to South Bend for the Battle at Blackthorn held at Blackthorn Golf Club.
