GAYLORD, Mich. – The Taylor women's golf team earned a sixth place finish at the Crusader Classic at Tree Tops resort on Friday.
Freshman Raquel Helton shaved 14 strokes off her first round score to lead the Trojans with a score of 83 during the final round on the 5,856-yard, par-72 Rick Smith course at Tree Tops Resort. Fellow freshman Elizabeth Jackson added a round of 88 while junior Brittany Pfaff chipped in a 90 and junior Libby Hansen finished with a 91 as the Trojans carded a score of 352 on Friday.
The Trojans finished with a two-round total of 709 (357-352), five shots behind Ohio Wesleyan. Pfaff had the low finish for the Trojans with a two-round total of 176 (86-90) to finish in a tie for 24th. Jackson was just one shot behind at 177 (89-88) to finish in 27th place in the 49-player field.
Taylor is back in action on October 2-3 at the Saint Francis Invitational in Fort Wayne.
