UPLAND, Ind. – The popular social media network, Snapchat, will be covering Friday's (December 11) #TUSilentNight game as a Live Story. The Live Story will broadcast #TUSilentNight to millions of Snapchat users around the world, using the video and photo Snaps submitted by Snapchatters at the game.
Live Stories allow Snapchatters at the same event or location - in this case, at and around Odle Arena - to contribute their unique perspectives through video and photo Snaps to one collective story. Submitted Snaps will be curated by a team at Snapchat and then re-packaged into a three to five minute video, which will then be broadcast globally to millions of users to view right on their phones for 24 hours.
To submit Snaps to the Live Story for possible inclusion, you must have the Snapchat app and an account, which is free to download and create. Snapchatters at the game will automatically see the option to submit their Snaps to the Silent Night Live story and, before submitting their Snaps, have the option to add cool geofilters created specifically for the event. Note that Snapchatters must also have "Filter" under Additional Services in settings enabled in order to submit your Snaps to the Live Story.
The announcement of the Live Story comes one week after the Taylor Athletics department announced the launching of its own Snapchat account, which can be followed at TaylorTrojans on the Snapchat app.
