UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor University will host the 32nd-Annual Ivanhoes Classic on December 11 and 12, with the 19th-Annual Silent Night Game starting things off on Friday at 6:00 pm, when Taylor hosts Ohio Chillicothe.
Clarke and Shawnee State will join Taylor and Ohio Chillicothe in rounding out the four-team field. The Trojans are 2-0 all-time against Shawnee State and have never faced Ohio Chillicothe or Clarke on the hardwood.
Taylor (4-6) is 18-0 all-time in the Silent Night Game since its beginning in 1997 and has won each of the last five Ivanhoes Classic Championships, going 10-0 in that stretch.
The action will begin with the traditional Silent Night Game, as Taylor will play Ohio Chillicothe on Friday at 6:00 pm. Gates will open at 4:45 pm for Taylor students and 5:00 pm for the public.
Friday's 8:00 pm game will pit Clarke against Shawnee State, with Saturday's schedule including a consolation game at 1:00 pm and the Ivanhoes Classic Championship at 3:00 pm.
Fans are encouraged to post comments, videos or pictures of the unique Silent Night event on social media using #TUSilentNight. For the first time ever, Snapchat will also be hosting a Live Story of the Silent Night Game, sharing snaps of fans inside Odle Arena all around the world.
Fans not able to attend the Ivanhoes Classic games will be able to watch a free webcast of both Taylor contests via the Trojan Sports Network on athletics.taylor.edu.
Tickets for the Silent Night Game are only available at the gate on a first-come, first-serve basis and there is no reserved seating for the game. Tickets for general admissions are $10 and tickets for Taylor alumni are $5. The cost for youth between the ages of seven and 18 is also $5, with children ages six and under being admitted at no cost. Taylor students with identification will also be admitted at no cost.
Admission for the rest of the games in the tournament will be $7 for general admission, $4 for Taylor alumni and $4 for youth.
