Game One Box | Game Two Box

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – Taylor held Milligan to two runs on six hits during Saturday's doubleheader, winning 3-2 behind a complete game by Jordan Crabb and tossing a combined one-hitter in a 2-0 game-two win.

Crabb (1-1) went the distance in the opener for his first collegiate complete game, scattering five hits and only walking one batter while allowing two earned runs in the win.

The Trojans only managed three hits in the game but coaxed six walks and benefitted from three errors by the Milligan (5-7) defense. Brian Moore scored all three of TU's runs to give Crabb all the support he would need.

Moore opened the game with a walk, before stealing second and coming around on an error for a quick 1-0 lead. The speedy senior shortstop then walked again in the third before advancing on a single by Tanner Watson and scoring on a run-scoring ground out by Lincoln Reed. Moore did it again in the fifth, reaching on an infield single, swiping second and scoring via a passed ball and another Milligan miscue.

The second game was another low-scoring affair, with Ryan Masters, Zak Eckerle, Rob Fox and Andrew Feldman combining on a one-hitter in the 2-0 Trojan victory. Masters (1-0) worked four no-hit frames for the win, and Feldman collected the save in his first collegiate outing with a perfect seventh inning.

Jared Adkins opened the scoring with a two-out double in the top of the second inning and came home on an RBI single by Sam Wiese. The score remained 1-0 until the sixth, when Nathan Targgart singled with two outs. Wyatt Whitman stole second as a pinch runner and scored on a Jake West single to cap the scoring at 2-0.

Taylor (4-4) is scheduled to open its Winterholter Field schedule on Saturday, February 27, when it hosts Cincinnati Christian in a 1:00 pm doubleheader.
