UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor extended its current win streak to four-straight games and improved to 10-2 over its last 12 outings with 3-1 and 10-3 wins against Marygrove on Friday afternoon at Winterholter Field.

TU took care of business in a brisk one-hour, 20-minute affair in Friday's opener behind an efficient Luke Hunter. Taylor did its damage early and Hunter made quick work of the Mustang hitters in the 3-1 victory.

Lincoln Reed opened the second inning with a single and courtesy runner Nathan Shelton later scored the first run of the day on a run-scoring grounder by Nathan Targgart. The Trojans tacked on two more in the third, after Kevin Fahy and Jared Adkins opened the frame with singles and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Nick Saldutti and a double by Nick Hollowell.

Marygrove reached Hunter for three hits and a run in the fourth, but the junior settled in and only allowed one hit over the final three frames. The Mustangs did not push a runner into scoring position over the final three innings and had one of their two runners picked off by Hunter.

Hunter needed only 72 pitches to record all 21 outs, giving up five hits and one run over the seven innings for his first victory of the season. Hunter picked up five strikeouts in the game and notched eight outs on the ground.

Taylor's lineup came to life in the second game, backing Jordan Crabb with 10 runs on 14 hits in the 10-3 victory.

Hollowell belted his fourth home run of the season to knot the score at 2-2 in the bottom half of the first inning and TU added two more runs in the second, one in the third and four in the fourth to blow the game open.

Tanner Watson, Brian Moore, Hollowell, Adkins and Josh Lane all turned in multi-hit games for the Trojans, as TU got production up and down the roster in the blowout win.

Adkins collected two of Taylor's five extra-base hits, with a double and a triple, while Lane had a double among three hits, scored twice, stole two bases and had one RBI.

Crabb (2-2) rebounded from the shaky first inning to pick up the win. The southpaw fanned six in four innings, allowing two runs on three hits. Colin Eggleson and Rob Fox followed Crabb to the bump, each tossing a scoreless inning of relief.

Taylor (11-6) will host Marygrove (1-9) again on Saturday, with the first game scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
