FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Freshman Raquel Helton shot 86 to lead the Taylor women's golf team to a fifth place finish in the weather-shortened USF Invitational.
The Trojans carded a team score of 354 at Cherry Hill Golf Course on Friday to finish day one in fifth place in the 10-team field. Sophomore Grace Elenbaas added a round of 88 while TU also got rounds of 89 from freshman Elizabeth Jackson and 91 from junior Brittany Pfaff. Junior Libby Edwards did not finish due to illness.
Saturday's final round was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Olivet Nazarene claimed the the tournament tiel with a score of 321 with Saint Francis (Ill.), Indiana Wesleyan, and Saint Francis (Ind.) rounding out the top four followed by the Trojans.
The Trojans will return to action on Monday and Tuesday at the Marian Invitational at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
