SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior Brittany Pfaff carded a score of 80 to lead the Taylor women's golf team on day one at the Bethel Pilots Invitation on Friday.


The Trojans carded a team score of 344 to finish day one in a tie for seventh place in the 11-team field. Freshman Elizabeth Jackson added a round of 84 while TU also counted an 88 from sophomore Grace Elenbaas and 92 from junior Libby Edwards.  


Bethel's duo of Jocelyn Ojala and Annie Smith share the individual lead after firing 77. Pfaff is tied for seventh, just three shots back, in the 52-player field.


Bethel leads the team race with a team score of 317. Olivet Nazarene is in second at 330 followed by Davenport at 331 and Saint Xavier at 336. The Trojans are chasing Crossroads League foe Saint Francis (343) while leading Grace and Spring Arbor.


Saturday's final round is slated to begin with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
