UPLAND, Ind.– The Taylor women's tennis team captured a 6-1 victory over Anderson University on Saturday afternoon, improving its overall record to 11-6.

 

Freshmen pair Taelor Grose and Mikayla Schultz paced the Trojans at No. 1 doubles, securing an 8-1 win over AU's Abby Kirkman and Megan Moriarty. TU's No. 2 doubles team of Courtney Clark and Annika Zeilstra followed with an 8-4 victory over the Ravens.

 

In singles, Schultz along with Corinne Hoffman, Ashlen Nisley and Sydney Wagoner all picked up points for the purple and gold.

 

Grose fought for the Trojan sweep at No. 1 singles, but came up just short against Kirkman, falling 11-9 in the third set.

 

Taylor will wrap up its spring season on April 22-23 in a tournament at Indiana Wesleyan.
