BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – The Taylor women's soccer team posted its second straight shutout of the season with Saturday's 2-0 victory over Roosevelt (0-2).
Amy Frederickson opened the scoring in the 73rd minute with a game-winning free kick from 30 yards out. The goal was the first of her TU career.
A little over 10 minutes later, Hannah Davis provided insurance for the visitors with her first collegiate score to make the 2-0 final tally.
The Trojans (2-0) were the aggressors from the outset, taking 21 shots compared to just six for the Lakers. In the first half alone, TU had a 14-3 advantage in shot attempts, which finally paid off with the goals from Frederickson and Davis in the second half. Taylor also posted a 10-1 edge over RU in corner kicks.
The Trojans will be back in action on September 2nd at 4:00 pm to take on Concordia (3-0) inside Turner Stadium.
