Crossroads League Release | TU Honors Page

INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League named TU goalkeeper Lauren Engelkes as the women's soccer Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.


Engelkes led Taylor to a 2-0 week with stellar play in the goal. The sophomore logged 135 shutout minutes, highlighted by her fifth career shutout in a 2-0 victory at St. Francis (IL), recording six saves. She also recorded three saves in a 2-0 win over Roosevelt.


The honor is the third of Engelkes' career, as she received two weekly awards during the 2015 campaign.


Engelkes is the fourth Trojan to receive a player-of-the-week award so far this year.


Engelkes and the Taylor women's soccer team (2-0) will return to action on Friday at 4:00 pm when they take on Concordia (3-0) inside Turner Stadium.
