RICHMOND, Ind.– The Taylor women's tennis team completed its third consecutive sweep at Earlham College on Thursday, improving its overall record to 3-0.
Sophomore Mikayla Schultz and freshman Alexa Kling defeated the Quakers 8-1 at No. 2 doubles and the pair of Courtney Clark and Betsy Jones rounded out doubles play with an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 spot.
Kling and Schultz along with sophomore Corinne Hoffman and senior Ashlen Nisley picked up the remaining points in singles action to give the Trojans their third sweep and second road win of the fall season.
"With each match out today, our girls became more battle ready," Taylor head coach Jini Morgan said. "Our team has faced a variety of skills in opponents in our first three matches and we are hopeful that we will continue solid play as we get deeper into the season."
TU (3-0, 1-0 CL) will host two matches at Meier Tennis Courts on Saturday, September 3. Taylor will face Indiana Institute of Technology at 10 am (ET) and then will meet Crossroads League crosstown rival Indiana Wesleyan University at 3 pm (ET).
