UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's soccer team (3-0) shut out its third-straight opponent to open the season, defeating Concordia 2-0 on Friday. A win Saturday over Georgetown would match the program record for best start to a season that was set in 2013.

Bailey Zehr opened up the scoring in the 11th minute with her first goal in a Taylor uniform. Zehr took a pass from Shelbi Lowe and laced the shot just under the goalie's outstretched arm to give TU the 1-0 lead.

The rest of the first half was back and forth with neither team getting many solid looks at the net. The Trojans tallied six shots by halftime while holding the Cardinals (3-1) without a shot attempt.

Taylor controlled possession most of the second half, dominating the shot attempts 10 to 2.

Nikki Zaino added the second TU goal when she sent a free kick through the goalie's hands just under the crossbar in the 67th minute, courtesy of an assist from Megan Kammer. Zaino became the sixth Trojan to record a goal on the year.

In the goal, Lauren Engelkes recorded her second shutout in as many starts this season. Engelkes also tallied a pair of saves in the win.

Taylor looks to extend its shutout streak to four games Saturday at 4:00 pm inside Turner Stadium against the Tigers of Georgetown (1-0-1).
