UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's soccer team defeated Georgetown 2-1 on Saturday, matching the program record for wins to begin a season with its fourth consecutive victory to open 2016.

TU (4-0) got off to a strong start in the contest, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Bailey Zehr scored a goal for the second-straight game when she volleyed a pass from Shelbi Lowe into the net to open up the scoring for the Trojans. Lowe recorded a second assist when she set up Nikki Zaino for a header that Zaino sent home just outside the goalie's reach.

Both teams had several looks at the goal in the first half, with Georgetown (1-1-1) edging Taylor slightly in shots, 12-9.

In the second half, the Tigers struck first with a goal off of a rebound. The score was the first allowed by the Trojans this season.

Lauren Engelkes continued her strong play in the goal, notching four saves for her third win of the year.

Up next for TU is a trip to Fort Wayne, IN, to take on Indiana Tech (1-1-1) on Friday, September 9, at 7:00 pm.
