MARION, Ind. – The No. 8 Taylor University women's cross country team dominated the 13-team field at the Indiana Wesleyan Invite on Friday, taking four of the top-five individual finishes to cruise to the team title.

Taylor secured its sixth team win in its last eight regular season events by running the sixth-best time in program history. TU's time of 94:13 was 2:50 better than second place and No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan and 4:14 faster than RV and third place Siena Heights. The Trojans ended with just 24 points, posting a sizable gap of 49 points over IWU and 68 points over the Saints.

TU cruised to the win by placing four runners inside the top-five and five individuals inside the top-10 of the 160-competitor field. Alex Berends (18:32.7), Rachel Blagg (18:43.9), Mae Elizabeth Gimre (18:50.1) and Michelle Franch (18:51.8) crossed the line in succession, as the wave of Taylor finishers claimed second, third, fourth and fifth in the individual standings.

Blagg and Franch posted new personal-best times in the race, while freshmen Taylor Bluemel and Naomi Noyes ran well in their first collegiate showings to finish in 10th and 29th respectively.

No. 8 Taylor (12-0) will return to the course next week at the Cedarville Invite on September 17.
