Box Score

DETROIT – The Taylor men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss in double overtime to Marygrove (3-1-1) on Saturday. It is the third game that has gone into extra time for the Trojans this season.

 

Josiah Wieland got the Trojans (2-3-2) on the scoreboard in the 40th minute with a header into the net, courtesy of a pass from Sam Hardy.

 

Marygrove tied the score at 1-1 with a goal in the 64th minute.

 

In the 85th minute, Gabe Saliba netted TU's second goal of the game off of a missed shot to give the Trojans a 2-1 lead with less than five minutes remaining in the contest.

 

One minute later, Marygrove knotted the score at 2-2, sending the game into overtime.

 

The first overtime was scoreless, but Marygrove recorded the game-winner with less than two minutes left in the second overtime to secure the win.

 

Next up for Taylor is a trip to Livonia, Michigan, to take on Madonna (4-0) at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 17.
