Crossroads League Release | Coach Andrews Addressing Media | TU Honors Page

INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced its 2016-2017 Preseason All-Crossroads League Teams and Coaches Poll on Monday with TU's Keaton Hendricks and Mason Degenkolb earning recognition for the Trojans.

Hendricks was voted as a Preseason Third-Team All-Crossroads League selection, after ranking second on Taylor's roster in scoring one year ago with 12.5 points per contest. The sharp-shooting junior forward ranked among the league's top-10 players in three-point makes and percentage during the 2015-2016 campaign and will enter his third season with the Trojans 284 points shy of becoming the 29th player in program history to reach 1,000 points.

Degenkolb was selected to the five-man Crossroads League Preseason All-Freshman Team. The guard out of Tipton, Indiana finished second on Tipton High's all-time scoring list with 1,726 points and earned a pair of Honorable Mention All-Indiana accolades during a standout prep career.

Hendricks and Degenkolb will be joined by sophomore Evan Crowe, who was honored as a member of the 2015-2016 Crossroads League All-Newcomer Team. Other key returners for TU include seniors Eric Cellier and Lane Vander Hulst, juniors Tim Fleming and Vivian Aiken and sophomore Jake Heggeland.

As a team, the Trojans were selected eighth in the league's preseason poll, after finishing sixth in the standings one year ago with an 8-10 league mark and a 14-17 overall record. The 14 wins marked a second-straight increase in Josh Andrews' three years at the helm of the program, while the eight league wins marked the highest league total in that time.

Taylor will open its 2016-2017 season on October 28 and 29, when it hosts Great Lakes Christian and Miami-Hamilton on consecutive dates inside Odle Arena.
