UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's soccer team won its sixth consecutive game to start the season, topping Lourdes (2-3) on Tuesday by a score of 2-0. The win extends the program record for most wins to begin a season, which was set in a victory over Indiana Tech on Friday.
TU got on the board first, as it has in every game this season, when freshman Hannah Davis scored off of a beautiful cross from Bailey Zehr. The goal came in the 35th minute and is the second of Davis' collegiate career.
Zehr then added the second and final Trojan score two and a half minutes later. She found open space just outside the penalty box and laced a shot into the upper right hand corner of the goal.
Taylor controlled possession for the majority of the game, tallying a 16-4 shot advantage for the contest. The hosts also held Lourdes without a corner kick the entire game, while the Trojans recorded 13 corners of their own.
Next on the schedule for TU (6-0) is a road matchup against No. 14 Campbellsville (7-1) at 6:00 pm on Saturday night.
