CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Taylor topped four NCAA Division I teams and a pair of NCAA Division II programs en route to finishing third at Saturday's 10-team Cedarville Invitational. TU finished behind Division II No. 14 Cedarville and Division I Cincinnati in the standings.
The Trojans posted a team time of 96:34 and ended with 81 points to finish comfortably ahead of Dayton and Cleveland State in the top-five, while claiming three top-15 finishes and seven top-35 performances.
Mae Elizabeth Gimre paced the squad, finishing fourth out of the 122 competitors with a personal-best time of 18:38.4. Alex Berends finished 12th at 19:00.2 and Michelle Franch came in 14th with a time of 19:13.2.
The parade of Trojans continued with Taylor Bluemel taking 27th, Rachel Blagg ending 28th, Naomi Noyes finishing 33rd and Hannah Schroder crossing in 34th overall position, as Taylor posted the seven-fastest NAIA times of the meet.
No. 7 Taylor (19-2) will return to action on October 1, when it runs at the Greater Louisville Classic.
