LANSING, Mich. – The 21st-ranked Taylor men's golf team collected a third place finish on Monday at the Eagle Eye Golf Club in the Spring Arbor Fall Classic.
The Trojans struggled at times during the 36-hole marathon on the challenging 6,931-yard, par-72 layout at Eagle Eye Golf Club, finishing with a two-round total of 607 (300-307) en route to a third place finish behind No. 22 Marian and Madonna who tied for first at 583.
The Trojans were led by senior Ian Rinken who collected a sixth place finish with a two-round total of 147 (73-74). Junior Nick Waskom finished in a tie for 16th at 153 (78-75) while sophomore Jeremy Ray was next at 154 (73-81). Sophomore Alec Dutkowski finished tied for 25th at 158 (81-77) and junior Trey Turner finished tied for 32nd at 161 (76-85).
The Trojans finished ahead of Crossroads League teams Huntington (304-309), Indiana Wesleyan (312-306), Spring Arbor (310-312) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (323-301).
Taylor will return to action this weekend when the Trojans travel to Fort Wayne for the Saint Francis Fall Invitational. Friday's first round will begin at 12:00 pm at Autumn Ridge Golf Course while Saturday's final round will begin at 8:00 am at Cherry Hill Golf Course.
