UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor men's soccer team could not crack the Cougar defense in its league-opener on Saturday, resulting in a 2-0 loss at Turner Stadium.

 

The first half was evenly matched, with neither team getting many scoring opportunities. Spring Arbor (7-2-1, 1-0 CL) tallied eight shots, with TU recording three.

 

The Trojans (2-6-2, 0-1 CL) were unable to keep the Cougars off the scoreboard in the second half, as SAU notched two second-half goals to secure the victory. With those two scores, Taylor has now been outscored 15 to seven in the second half of contests this season.

 

Next up for TU is a match against Mount Vernon Nazarene (7-1-1, 0-0 CL) in Mount Vernon, Ohio, on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
