UPLAND, Ind.– The Taylor women's tennis team hosted a doubleheader Saturday at Meier Tennis Courts, sweeping Crossroads League opponent Goshen College 9-0, while falling later in the day to Davenport University, 7-2, in a non-conference matchup.

In TU's Crossroads League victory over Goshen, all nine Trojan courts won in straight sets.

At No. 1 doubles, duo Molly Fletchall and Taelor Grose defeated Mimi Salvador and Joelle Friesen 8-1. Sophomore Mikayla Schultz and junior Betsy Jones earned an 8-1 win at the No. 2 spot, while junior Annika Zeilstra and sophomore Courtney Clark paired for a third 8-1 win at the No. 3 court.

Freshman Alexa Kling and senior Ashlen Nisley held their opponents scoreless at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Against Davenport, Kling and freshman classmate Molly Pile collected TU's two team points in singles action. Both Kling and Pile won their respective courts in straight sets.

"It was great to get another conference win under our belt this morning against Goshen," Taylor head coach Jini Morgan said. "Against Davenport, having three close battles in doubles, a couple of singles wins, along with closely contested matches on our other singles courts, show strong improvement while playing teams of that caliber."

Taylor (8-4, 4-3 CL) will be back in action on Wednesday, September 28 when it hosts the University of Saint Francis. The Crossroads League match is set to begin at 4 pm (ET).
