GREENTOWN, Ind.– The Taylor women's tennis team won its final regular season Crossroads League match 6-3 over the University of Saint Francis on Wednesday. The contest was played at a neutral indoor tennis facility in Greentown, Indiana due to court conditions and rain at TU.
The Trojans earned five of their six team points in singles play. Sophomore Molly Fletchall and freshmen Alexa Kling and Molly Pile snagged victories in straight sets on their respective courts. Sophomores Taelor Grose and Mikayla Schultz also collected points for Taylor.
Fletchall and Grose were the only TU duo to win in doubles action.
"Each match our players get more mentally tough," Taylor head coach Jini Morgan said. "Our doubles didn't go the way we wanted, but our singles players stepped it up and secured the win for us."
Taylor (9-4, 5-3 CL) is seeded fourth in the Crossroads League tournament, and will host Grace College in the league tournament quarterfinals next week. TU will next host non-conference Cedarville on Thursday, September 29 at 4 pm (ET).
