SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Taylor women's golf team opened the Battle at Blackthorn with a solid team score of 328 on Friday with TU sophomore Raquel Helton leading the way with an 8-over par 80.
The Trojans counted an 80 from Helton along with an 82 from Elizabeth Jackson and a pair of 83's from freshman Maddie Thomas and senior Brittany Pfaff while freshman Annie Stimmel added an 80 as TU's drop score.
Taylor enters Saturday's final round in fourth place while #RV Saint Francis (Ind.) leads at 315 followed by #RV Bethel at 318 and Olivet Nazarene at 321. The Trojans lead #RV Indiana Wesleyan (331) along with fellow Crossroads League foes Mount Vernon Nazarene and Spring Arbor.
Saturday's final round is slated to begin with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
