UPLAND, Ind. – After taking a 1-0 lead in the 71st minute, the Taylor men's soccer team surrendered three unanswered goals, resulting in a 3-1 defeat against Bethel (8-5, 3-1 CL) on Wednesday night.

The scoreboard showed 0-0 at halftime, but the first half did not lack opportunities. Both teams had solid looks within striking range but could not connect. TU (3-8-2, 1-3 CL) had a prime opportunity when Gabe Saliba snuck past the Pilot defense for a shot, but his attempt narrowly missed the right goalpost.

The majority of the second half was like the first half, with neither side able to break the scoreless tie through 70 minutes of action.

With 19:16 remaining, however, Lewis Nisbet put the Trojans on the board with a penalty kick. (Watch here)

From that point on, the match would be all Bethel's. The Pilots scored their first goal with 12:42 remaining and rattled off two more goals in a matter of six minutes to put the game out of reach.

Up next for TU is a trip to Indianapolis to take on Marian (5-7-1, 2-2 CL) at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
