MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Four of Taylor's top-five finishers ran the fastest times of their careers on Friday at the Bethel Invite, as the seventh-ranked Trojans secured a second-place team finish.
The strong individual performances led to a team time of 94:26 for TU, marking the second-fastest team mark of the season and the seventh-best time in program history. The Trojans trailed only No. 3 Aquinas in the team standings, as the Saints turned in a time of 93:21 to defeat TU by 17 points.
Mae Elizabeth Gimre continued her standout sophomore campaign with another personal-best mark, this time crossing in third overall with a time of 18:19 for the fifth-best individual time in program history. Rachel Blagg also turned in a personal-best with a time of 18:34 to claim seventh overall with the 11th-best time in TU program history.
Additional personal-best times were ran by Taylor Bluemel and Naomi Noyes, in 14th and 19th overall, while Michelle Franch finished in 18th. The trio rounded out TU's top-five with times of 19:05, 19:13 and 19:13 respectively.
No. 7 Taylor (70-5) will compete at the Great Lakes Invite in Grand Rapids on October 22, before running for a fourth-straight Crossroads League Championship on November 5.
