INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced its weekly awards on Tuesday morning, with Taylor's Matt Hall claiming the league's Male Runner-of-the-Week honor for the third time this season.
Hall scored his second individual win of the 2016 campaign and set a new course record at the Bethel Invitational on Friday, October 7 with a mark of 25:05. The time was 13 seconds faster than the next competitor and helped Taylor claim second-of-11 in a loaded field with its fastest team time since 1999.
Hall boasts TU's four-fastest individual times of the year, has finished fourth or better in all four outings and has been Taylor's top finisher in his last 15 races, while leading TU a total of 19 times in his 21 career races with the Trojans. In Hall's last 15 regular season races, the senior owns an individual win-loss record of 2,465-34 and has four wins, nine top-five finishes and 12 top-10 showings.
With the third Crossroads League Runner-of-the-Week honor of the season, Hall has now received the award seven times and joined Mae Elizabeth Gimre of the TU women's cross country team in giving TU a sweep of the honors this week.
Hall and the No. 14 Trojans (57-6) will race again on October 22, when they compete in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Great Lakes Invite.
