ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Turnovers and a slow start plagued Taylor on Saturday, as the Trojans trailed 17-0 after one quarter and committed four miscues in a 34-14 MSFA Mideast League loss at Concordia.
The Cardinals (5-3, 2-1 MSFA) put 17 points on the board in the opening quarter and scored another 14 in the final period to secure the victory. Taylor found the end zone in the second and third quarters to draw within six points, before having the game slip away late.
TU ended with 292 total yards of offense and had four possessions ended with turnovers, while Concordia rushed for 349 yards and ended the afternoon with 486 total yards of offense.
Hans Lundberg hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass for one of his three receptions to lead the squad with 46 yards receiving, while Caleb Nicley ended with a team-leading five catches. Daniel Boy and Kyle Kempton each had three receptions.
Taylor (3-6, 1-4 MSFA) will take a week off before returning to action at Lindenwood (0-7, 0-4 MSFA) on November 5 in its MSFA finale. The Trojans will close their season at home on Senior Day against Trinity International (1-7, 0-4 MSF) on November 12.
