Box Score

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Taylor women's soccer team recorded its 11th shutout of the season against Huntington on Saturday, setting a new program record in the 0-0 draw.

Neither the Trojans (14-1-1, 7-1-1 CL) nor the Foresters (5-7-5, 1-4-4 CL) could muster a shot into the back of the net, resulting in the scoreless draw.

HU had a clear advantage in the shot tally in the first half, edging the Trojans eight to three.

That advantage was flipped to Taylor's side in the second half, as TU outshot Huntington 9-3, but was unable to break the tie on the scoreboard.

The Trojans recorded two shots to HU's one in the overtime sessions.

Shelbi Lowe led the team with eight shots, four of those on goal, and Nikki Zaino added three shots, with two of those being on goal.

Lauren Engelkes notched her seventh shutout of the season, recording eight saves.

The 16th-ranked Trojans (14-1-1, 7-1-1 CL) will return to action on Saturday in the Crossroads League Quarterfinals, where the team will host Saint Francis (7-9-2, 3-5-1 CL) at a time yet to be determined. Check back to athletics.taylor.edu for updates on the tournament schedule.
