UPLAND, Ind. – Gabe Saliba netted two goals and assisted on another, and the TU men's soccer team topped Huntington, 4-1, on Saturday. The victory clinched a berth in the Crossroads League tournament next Saturday at Bethel.

Taylor (6-10-2, 4-5 CL) did not waste much time getting on the scoreboard, as Gonzalo Iglesias threaded a pass to Saliba in traffic. Saliba then snuck his shot inside the post to give the Trojans the 1-0 edge with only 10:40 off the clock.

Iglesias made it a 2-0 lead when he slotted a penalty kick just inside the right-hand post just under 10 minutes after Saliba's score.

Neither team could convert the rest of the half, giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead at the break. TU led despite being outshot eight to six by the Foresters (7-9-1, 5-4 CL).

Huntington scored its lone goal of the match 5:22 into the second half off of a corner kick to cut the lead in half.

The Trojans finished with a flurry, however. Rader scored the Trojans' third goal of the game in the 75th minute, courtesy of an assist by Saliba. Saliba finished the scoring with his second goal of the match off of a cross from Josiah Wieland with 8:26 remaining in the contest, securing the 4-1 win.

The assist by Wieland was the first of his career, while Saliba tied his career-high with five points, which he set in the win over Saint Francis on Wednesday.

TU (6-10-2, 4-5 CL) will be back in action on Saturday in the Crossroads League Quarterfinals at top-seeded Bethel (11-6-1, 6-2-1 CL) at a time yet to be determined. Check back to for updates on the tournament schedule
