UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor men's soccer team member Paul Egenolf was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II First-Team for men's soccer.
The award is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the field or court of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have reached sophomore status academically with one full year at the current institution of enrollment and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions during the current season.
Egenolf was selected to the First-Team Academic All-District for the first time. The Mooresville, Indiana native owns a 3.83 GPA in accounting and was one of only three sophomores on the Academic All-District II First-Team. Egenolf appeared in 12 games for the Trojans this season, recording the first goal and first assist of his two-year career, while helping patrol the backline for TU.
Taylor has now totaled 12 Academic All-District honors during the 2016-2017 school year.
Egenolf will now be placed on the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America team, which will be announced on November 17.
