NAIA Release | TU Honors Page | Gamble 95-Yard TD Return Highlight

KANSAS CITY – Within hours of being tabbed as the Special Teams Player of the Week in the Mid-States Football League, Taylor's Dovi Gamble received the NAIA's National Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award on Monday afternoon.

Gamble highlighted Taylor's 48-45 double overtime win at Lindenwood with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and two blocked punts on special teams. The junior cornerback also pulled down a game-saving interception in the end zone to force the second overtime period.

Gamble is the first player from the Mid-States Football Association to receive a National Player-of-the-Week award from the NAIA this season, and the second Taylor student-athlete to earn the award, with Matt Hall claiming NAIA National Runner-of-the-Week honors on September 15.

Taylor (4-6, 2-4 CL) will close its season on Saturday, November 12 when it welcomes Trinity International (3-7, 1-4 CL) to Turner Stadium for a 1:00 pm start. TU will honor its senior class prior to the game, at approximately 12:35 pm.
