INDIANAPOLIS – Evan Crowe was named as the Crossroads League Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, after helping Taylor secure wins at No. 3 Davenport and over RV Ohio Christian.
Crowe scored over 20 points in each contest, averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field and sinking 10-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc for a 62.5-percent rate.
The sharp-shooting sophomore posted 24 points, nine rebounds and two steals in the 86-81 win at No. 3 Davenport and hit four-straight triples late in the second half to push a one-point lead back into double figures. Crowe followed that with 21 points and six boards in TU's 85-64 victory over No. 28 Ohio Christian.
The Crossroads League Player-of-the-Week award is the first for Crowe and gives Taylor 28 weekly honors this fall from the Crossroads League and Mid-States Football Association.
Crowe and the Trojans (7-0, 0-0 CL) will open Crossroads League play on Tuesday, when they host No. 16 Bethel (7-1, 0-0 CL) for a 7:00 pm start inside Odle Arena.
